Fallen Angels?: Hush, Hush Review

Name: Hush, Hush
Author: Becca Fitzpatrick
Date Published: October 13th, 2009

Short Summary:
From the author: For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her...until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment, but after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is far more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel. For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

In public or under the covers?
This book is okay to read in public. But this is probably a book you want to read under the covers. It’s so enthralling, you need to make sure you have a lot of free time, and that you are extra comfy, because you are not going to want to put this book down.
What mood?
Hush, Hush creates a suspenseful mood. There is also a lot of sexual tension between Patch and Nora. You will be on the edge of your seat (or bed) during the whole book.

Main Character - yay or nay?
Nora Grey is great. I would totally be her best friend. Nora’s father has died recently, and now she’s seeing these weird shadows. Plus, she has the gorgeous, yet creepy, Patch, chasing after her. She doesn’t know who to trust, but throughout this, she’s pretty strong. I mean, if I was Nora, I would’ve gone insane in the beginning of the book.

Getting Over Patch:
Getting over Patch? What do those words even mean? How does one simply “get over Patch?” Patch is perfect. He is witty, and funny, and everything I want in a guy. Okay, yes, he does have those v-shaped scars on his back, and yes, Nora does think he’s trying to kill her, but how can you resist Patch? It's just...

Character Fever:
I love Rixon. You don’t see him much in this book, but he’s a quality character. I don’t know what it is about Rixon, but I just love him. I also love Vee. She’s Nora’s best friend. She reminds me a lot of my best friend. She’s crazy, yet lovable.

Crust factor:
Would you like some spoilers? No? Well then, I am unable to tell you the crust factors. If I were to tell you the crust factors, I would spoil the whole plot. What would be the point in reading the book then? Just pick up the book, and read it…NOW!

Don’t judge a book by its cover:
I’m not a hug fan of the cover. I think the man should be a bit muscular =P

Song this reminds me of:
Pardon me by He is We (Go Periscope remix). The song just describes Nora and Patch.

Future Companion Novels:
Crescendo, Silence, Finale, and the graphic novel.

Overall Rating:
I give Hush, Hush a 3. This book is majorly sexy, but I wanted more.
