T x3: Books To Read In A Day

This week's Top Ten Tuesday, by Broke and the Brookish, is quite fun yet challenging to me. As a reader, I have two rules.
1) Never read an author back to back.
2) Don't read a book in one sitting.
However, I fall short of my rules. This week, I'm detailing ten novels in which I've forgotten rule two. Suddenly, the action turns way too crazy. The drama turns juicy. If you're reading an author like Jodi Picoult or Nicholas Sparks, your heart begins to crazy those tender and heart-wrenching moments. Don't get me started on the heated sensual scenes. Take a look! Click on the title for synopsis.

“Mom says it's because she has PMS.

"I'm not a little kid anymore. It means pissed-at- men syndrome”
- Noah, The Last Song
Being a rebellious teen can be tedious but rather rewarding. I read this book from cover to cover during nightly study hall at boarding school. Finishing around two am, I texted every significant person in my life a tear-filled message. I'm surprised I had the ability to see the screen with my watering eyes.

The Book Of Luke

 "GUY TIP #18:
Just because you can urinate anywhere you want doesn't mean you should-even if your aim is so good you can spell out "Red Sox Rule" in capital letters with once taking a break.” - Emily

If I wrote a guide for jerks, I wouldn't even know where to begin! However, Emily does. Giving tips by attempting to change the biggest womanizer at her school, Luke Preston, provides us with hilarious, sorrowful, yet satisfying feelings. I was dying to know who ended up on top: Luke, Emily, or both. Mystery!
The Boyfriend League
“I always wondered… what exactly do a catcher and pitcher discuss at the mound?- Dani

Last night we talked about you.- Jason”

The ultimate dream... having a collegiate athlete, baseball in Dani's case, live in your house for the entire summer. The only stipulation is you are not allowed to fall in love with him. Difficult task? I think ABSOLUTELY so! In my case, it's Jeff Skinner. He's not quite collegiate or a baseball player. Try more like NHL Hockey Player.

Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie
“And if there was one thing I'd finally figured out, it was that your mind is something you always CAN change.” -Steven

It's been a while since I've read this book. Think ninth grade lol. However, it's stayed in my mind since then. Thirteen year old Steven's life is packed with the throws of middle school. When his brother, Jefferey, is diagnosed with Leukemia, all that he knows changes. Every emotion will be expressed as you glue yourself to the chair.

Jason and Kyra
Awww unique love. It's High School Musical is a novel forum. Dexter and I fight about the quality of this novel. To me, the intricate woven scenes defined that friendships and romance comes in all forms. I don't regret buying this book randomly in the airport on the way to Puerto Rico. In one airplane ride, I inhaled every chapter as if it were my breath. None of us want to think about the unspoken social boundaries placed upon us in high school.  Yet, Dana Davidson takes you there.

Leaving Paradise
Only quotes are needed to express how great this book is!
“I look down at our knees, slightly touching. Jeans against jeans. Does she notice the heat transferring from her body to mine? Does she even realize what she's doing to me? I know, I know. I'm not a virgin and the slightest touch of a girl's knee is driving me insane. I don't even know what I'm feeling for Maggie, I just know that I'm feeling. -Caleb

Oh it's not over!

“I wasn't going to kiss you."'
'You weren't?' I look up look up at him.
'Nope, the next time I kiss you it'll last a long, long time. And when we're done you're going to realize being turned on is not about experience.”

“Tell me you’ll come back for me.” His eyes were bright with tears. “I don’t want to lose you.”

I'm not going to tell you who said this quote. It will make your experience much better. Our Calla has to chose between her wolf pack and future husband and her high school human crush. Let's just say I'm team Ren, her sexy alpha wolf fiance!  Besides the cover being boss, I lost myself in this book because this is the only werewolf novel I've enjoyed so far.

Plan B
“Reed: "What's up?"
Vanessa: "There must be an accident or something."
Reed: "I'm the accident."
Vanessa: "I couldn't agree more."
Reed: "What I meant was, those people out there are waiting for me.”

Can you imagine learning you have a celebrity brother? You would be excited right? What if he was a douche bag? What if he ruined every aspect of your life? Wouldn't want to be related to him then? Surprisingly so, this book has minimal romance.  But, I didn't break my rule for romance. I broke my rule because I loved Vanessa and Reed's hilarious sibling rival-hood.

According to the Ivy, college at Harvard sounds like a dream. A very entertaining dream. But for Callie, it swiftly turns into a entertaining nightmare. Entertaining for us at least. You won't help to select your favorite Harvard traditions from her point of view.

“Rien ne va arrĂȘter ma quĂȘte pour te trouver" No one will stop my quest to find you.” - Jason

I read this entire novel in Borders, when it was still alive. Let's take a moment for the second greatest store in existence. Second to the amazing Books A Million of course! I remember almost nothing except that I laughed, empathized with Lani, and considered Jason to be quite a hottie with a body. I plan on rereading this book for substance one day but, until then... I'll always remember that hilarious scene in the pizza restaurant. The only one I remember because I read it in one sitting.

I hope you enjoyed my list of one day reads. Have you read any of these books? If so, leave a comment or head over to the forum.
