Top Ten: Books I'd Recommend As Good Beach Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme we participate in hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week's topic is beach reads. This is perfect for me because I am in love with the beach. I was probably a mermaid in past life.... moving on.

My definition of a beach read is something sort of light that I can put down and pick back up when I was in and out of the water accordingly. This is my list!

 1. Getting to Third Date by Kelly McClymer
This book is a fun and quick read about a girl giving her exes another try... and writing an article about it. Nothing could go wrong. Not at all.
2. Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
This book is set on the beach! It's about a girl trying to reconnect with her dad and find herself at the same time. It is overloaded with cute moments.
 3. The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks
Also set on the beach and also about connecting with dear old dad. This book is about discovering what's truly important in life and not letting it go to waste. It's a touching story.
4. She Went All the Way by Meg Cabot
They're all in the cold and they 'hate' each other and you're on the nice sandy beach laughing at their naivete. What could be better?
5. The Luxe by Anna Godbersen
Even though this book is set in 1899, it has enough drama to rival our time in high school. Secret loves, fabulous balls, family mistrust, and arranged marriages. Read this book and be glad you live in this century.
 6. Weekend in Paris by Robyn Sisman
After finding out that your promotion is really a play for sex and promptly quitting your job, what else is there to do than board a train to Paris and have the time of your life?
 7. Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
This book is about a road trip that helps two friend find out more about themselves and each other.
 8. Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler
This one has summer in the title so you know it's obviously an excellent choice. Two friends decide to spend a summer hooking up with as many boys as possible. Perfect book to read while you tan and stop your brother from burying you in the sand.
9. Airhead by Meg Cabot
Ever wonder what it's like to be a model? Ever wonder what it's like to have your brain transplanted into the body of one of the world's most famous supermodel? Well, now all your questions can be answered, with some laughs along the way.
10. A Lot Like Love by Julie James (NC-17)
If you like a little sizzle with your summer, I suggest this story of a heiress and an agent catching bad guys and each others' hearts. (That was a bad joke, I apologize.)

  1. Enjoyed reading your list. The Luxe sounds interesting. I've always enjoyed reading about that turn of the century. Thanks.
